ZPID Director Talks about the Role of Psychological Research Methods in the Open Science Debate

Michael Bosnjak's invited talk at Freie Universität Berlin will place the research methods in the current open science debate.

"Psychological research methods can play an important role in solving the replication crisis," says ZPID Director Prof. Dr. Michael Bosnjak. He will explain why he is of this opinion in a talk at Freie Universität Berlin to which he is invited on Friday, June 15.

Afterwards, Bosnjak will take part in a discussion on the topic - together with Mario Gollwitzer, Heinz Holling, Frank Renkewitz, Peter Steiner and Stephen West.

Michael Bosnjak's research interests include methods for the synthesis of research results. He is Full Professor for Psychological Research Methods at the University of Trier and is building up an infrastructure for open science research in psychology at ZPID. In his opinion, some possible tools to resolve the replication crisis could be the preregistration of studies and free access to research data and publications. ZPID is working on a platform for preregistration (RegReports) and there already is a research data archive (PsychData) and a publication platform for Open Access journals (PsychOpen GOLD).

The Section Methods and Evaluation of the German Psychological Society and the department Methods and Evaluation/Quality Assurance of Freie Universität Berlin have organized the event titled "The Role of Psychological Research Methods in the Open Science Debate”.

The aim is to present the role of psychological research methods in this area, to identify further needs in this debate and to offer opportunities for exchange and networking across content areas and subject groups.

The event is open to all interested parties and is designed for psychologists of all content directions. Registration at esther.ulitzsch(at)fu-berlin.de.
