Science Acceptance

What is this area about?

We investigate how people think about science and how they evaluate researchers and scientific evidence. Our research deals with questions such as: When do we trust in science and where does science skepticism come from? How do laypeople process scientific knowledge? Or, how do people from within and outside of science respond towards current developments in the scientific system?

Who's working on that?

The research area “Science Acceptance“ consists of different research groups and individual researchers. There is the "Science Reception Lab" headed by Jun.-Prof. Dr. Marlene Altenmüller, the "Social Influence Lab" headed by director Prof. Dr. Kai Sassenberg, and research projects by research coordinator Dr. Tom Rosman.
