Postdoctoral Researcher in Social Sciences
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract
Duration: 24 Month
The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.
The Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) at the University of Luxembourg brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences. People from across 20 disciplines are working within the Faculty. Along with the disciplinary approach a very ambitious interdisciplinary research culture has been developed. The faculty’s research and teaching focuses on social, economic, political and educational issues with the common goal of contributing to an inclusive, open and resourceful society.
Your role
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for designing and implementing a practice-oriented monitoring system, as well as collecting and analysing qualitative data within the EvaCQ project. This project aims to scientifically accompany and evaluate the structural and conceptual transition of quality advisors in the non-formal education sector towards their new exclusive role as quality facilitators. The objectives are to systematically document and analyse organisational and pedagogical processes related to the implementation and consolidation of institutional quality management systems in non-formal education settings. Insights gained from this research will contribute to the continuous and reflective development of pedagogical practices, providing evidence-based guidance for institutions and supporting the sustainable establishment of quality management structures. Furthermore, the findings will inform and enrich the academic discourse on quality development in the non-formal education sector.
The successful candidate will join the research group on non-formal education at the Centre for Childhood and Youth Research (CCY) within the Department of Social Sciences. The CCY is a multidisciplinary research centre currently comprising approximately 20 staff members, conducting studies using both qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate youth development and social inequalities. The Centre maintains close collaborations with national and international research institutes and organisations.
