ZPID Director Is the New Editor-in-Chief of the Zeitschrift für Psychologie

The Zeitschrift für Psychologie has a new editor-in-chief. ZPID director Prof. Michael Bosnjak has taken over the task from Prof. Edgar Erdfelder.

"It is a great honor for me to be able to further develop the Zeitschrift für Psychologie together with an experienced team of co-editors," says Prof. Bosnjak. "On the one hand, we want to continue the tried and tested model of topical issues and, at the same time, open the journal towards open science. Concrete steps in this direction are, for example, the inclusion of the publication format Registered Reports and the close connection with the psychological repository PsychArchives, which is operated by the ZPID - Leibniz Institute for Psychology."

Bosnjak has been a member of the editorial team of the Zeitschrift für Psychologie since 2015. He also supports other journals as an editorial board member such as Frontiers in Psychology, the Journal of Information and Organizational Sciences and Social Science Computer Review.

The Zeitschrift für Psychologie was founded in 1890 and is the oldest psychology journal in Europe and the second oldest in the world. High-quality research results from all branches of empirical psychology that are of international interest and relevance are published in four topical issues per year.

Each issue is compiled by guest editors and generally features one broad Review Article accompanied by Original Articles from leading researchers as well as additional shorter contributions such as Research Spotlights (presenting details of individual studies or summaries of particularly interesting work in progress), Horizons (summarizing important recent or future meetings or outlining future directions of work), and Opinion pieces that provide a platform for both established and alternative views on aspects of the issue's topic.

The application phase has recently started for the editions from 2023 to 2026. Interested editorial teams are invited to submit proposals for topical issues - at leibniz-psychology.org/ZfP.
