The Leibniz Institute for Psychology (ZPID) offers generally understandable information on research results with its “KLARpsy” service. The 100th text on a specific topic has now been published.

Since the launch of KLARpsy in autumn 2023, 100 German KLARpsy texts from the entire world of psychological research have already been published. KLARpsy texts provide easy-to-understand and reliable summaries from all areas of psychological research. "Through our KLARpsy texts, scientific backgrounds and insights from psychology become comprehensible for everyone," says product manager Dr. Anita Chasiotis, who is, together with Dr. Marlene Stoll and Dr. Martin Kerwer, responsible for KLARpsy "Our topics include, for example, information about mental disorders such as ADHD or the effectiveness of therapies." Dr. Kerwer adds: "Some KLARpsy texts that are particularly popular and frequently read are, for example: Does exercise promote creativity? Or: How does commuting to work relate to well-being?"

Meta-analyses from psychology: Understandable, reliable, for everyone

The KLARpsy texts are written at ZPID and make scientific backgrounds and findings from psychology understandable for everyone. The easily readable texts are always clearly and logically structured. The results of research reviews, so-called meta-analyses, on a specific topic are presented. These meta-analyses summarize the results of individual studies to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of research. "We thus offer an information resource that is valuable for the interested public, but also for students, researchers, and people from psychological and educational practice. Those who not only want to read but also participate are cordially invited to do so," say the product managers. Test readers can provide feedback on the texts, and topic requests can be easily submitted via a online form. The freely accessible German-language offer at klarpsy.de is complemented by the so-called KLARsaurus, a collaborative dictionary for psychological terms, as well as explanatory videos.
