Successfully balancing family, work, and private life

On May 31, 2022, the Leibniz Institute for Psychology (ZPID) in Trier was again recognized as a family-friendly employer by the berufundfamilie Service GmbH. The successful recertification of the audit berufundfamilie is valid for three years. "We are pleased and proud that we have earned recognition of our family- and life-phase-conscious personnel policy from an independent source," says the delighted General Manager, Dr. Gabriel Schui. "It was especially important to us during the time of the coronavirus pandemic that all 60 ZPID employees were able to easily balance their work and home lives." Moving forward, the team at ZPID will continue to have the opportunity to spend some time working from home. On June 21, 2022, ZPID will receive the award during the official online certification event (Zertifikats-Online-Event).

This certification verifies that ZPID has successfully gone through the auditing process offered by the berufundfamilie Service GmbH and continues to use a strategic approach to sustainably shape the compatibility of work, family, and private life. In the dialog between ZPID and the auditing panel, focus was placed primarily on employee appraisals, practical support in family emergency situations, communication with the staff council, the integration of new team members, and joint activities such as sporting events. Each year, the berufundfamilie Service GmbH will review whether the target agreements set with ZPID management are being implemented.

A total of 78 organizations received their audit berufundfamilie or audit familiengerechte hochschule (audit family-friendly university) certificate from the berufundfamilie board of trustees on May 31, 2022. Nationwide, the certificate recipients include 42 business corporations, 32 institutions, and four universities.
