Call for Abstracts: Research Synthesis & Big Data Conference 2021

In 2021 ZPID will present its third Twin Conference that integrates two essential fields of rising relevance: Big Data and Research Synthesis. The conference will take place in Frankfurt, Germany, from May 17 until May 21.

The conference is devoted to research addressing methods and applications of research syntheses (including systematic reviews and meta-analyses), as well as Big Data analyses (including large data sets, intensive longitudinal data, and machine learning) in psychology and related fields. 

Invited keynote speakers for Big Data are:

  • Margaret Kern, University of Melbourne, Australia
  • Carolin Strobl, University of Zurich, Switzerland

Invited keynote speakers for Research Synthesis are:

  •    Avi Kluger, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel
  •    Frank Renkewitz, Helmut Schmidt University, Germany
  •    Gerta Rücker, University of Freiburg, Germany

Authors who wish to present at this conference are invited to submit a structured abstract via the conference website. Presentations can include both applications as well as methodological innovations. Structured abstracts should contain between 350 and 1.000 words and should encompass information on each of the following headings:

(a) Background,
(b) Objectives,
(c) Research question(s) and / or hypothesis/es,
(d) Method / approach,
(e) Results / findings (expected),
(f) Conclusions and implications (expected).

The conference is planned to be an on-site event, but will change to a virtual conference if this will be necessary. The decision on that shall be made early next year (i.e., end of January, 2021).
