Building Experiments with PsychoPy: Basics

Abstract

PsychoPy is a freely available tool for creating behavioral experiments in which, for example, reaction times and error rates are to be recorded. Besides the possibility to work completely with code, PsychoPy also offers a user-friendly interface, the PsychoPy Builder.

In this demonstration we will work exclusively with this builder. No previous knowledge is necessary! Together we will build an experiment step by step, in which subjects are asked to react to a stimulus and receive feedback. There will be constant tips from own experience and explanation of common sources of error.

This demonstration is primarily intended for newcomers to PsychoPy! However, it can be very valuable if more experienced people also want to share their tips and tricks.
