Digitalization and open access to knowledge were two main topics of the conference at the DIPF - Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education in Frankfurt, organised by the Association of German Librarians (Verein Deutscher Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekare, VDB).
In addition to the well-proven services around the database PSYNDEX Veronika Kuhberg, head of information services at ZPID, presented new developments such as the research data management tool DataWiz and the archive PsychArchives. "In the discussion we were able to amplify the use of PsychArchives for self-archiving as well as the support ZPID offers for research data management," said Kuhberg.
Furthermore, she explained the realignment of ZPID. The aim is to create services for all needs arising in scientific psychological work - for gathering ideas and researching literature, for the documentation of research and archiving data as well as for the publication of results. It is based on an ideal-type research cycle.
"I was pleased to see how interested the participants were in our services," said Kuhberg. "It was also very fascinating to find out what services other institutions are developing and what experiences they have made.”
The conference of the field librarians of psychology takes place every two years. It is planned to organize it 2021 at ZPID in Trier.
