AIMOS2020 focused on addressing topics of replicability, reproducibility, and open science. A mission that ZPID supports as well. Lisa Spitzer, research associate at ZPID, illustrated what a preregistration is and why it is important that researchers preregister their studies. She presented various possible routes for creating preregistrations, focusing on R Markdown (using the "prereg" package).
Furthermore, she presented a new preregistration template that has been developed by members of the American Psychological Association (APA), the British Psychological Society (BPS), the German Psychological Society (DGPs), the Center for Open Science (COS), and the Leibniz Institute for Psychology (ZPID).
The conference organizers had been impressed by her contribution and awarded her a #AIMOS2020 ECR award. "It has been a great experience being a part of AIMOS2020. I enjoyed learning more about meta-research and open science, and talking to so many people that are as passionate about these topics as I am", says Lisa Spitzer. "Moreover, I was very pleased with the interest in the preregistration workshop and I am very proud of being awarded an ECR award. I hope that the workshop's participants now feel more confident to use preregistration."
