The Yearbook of Music Psychology is a scientific publication of the German Society for Music Psychology (DGM) that publishes scholarly articles in German and English from all subject areas of music psychology. Related disciplines such as music sociology, music education and musical acoustics are quite often of interest as well.
"The Yearbook of Music Psychology is a good example of how ZPID supports learned societies in the transformation from closed to open access publications", says Armin Günther, Managing Editor of PsychOpen GOLD. "The DGM yearbook has been published as a printed book by various publishers since 1984, and later also as a paid eBook."
The Yearbook of Music Psychology has been published as an online first publication with open access to all content in cooperation with PsychOpen GOLD since 2018. Submitted manuscripts will be published immediately after a positive review.
"In addition, the rights of use to old editions of the yearbook were bought back by the society DGM. As a result, the volumes that were originally paid for since 1984 have been made freely accessible as secondary open access publications", explains Günther.
