Role description

We are looking for a research assistant / PhD student (f/m/d) for a project funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation to set up an organizational structure for participatory research in medicine. Key research areas are the improvement of the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of dementia. Participatory research refers to the process of actively involving people with lived experience of a condition into the research process to improve its relevance, quality, and impact. The aim of the project is therefore to develop, implement and evaluate a patient and public involvement board or "PARTicipatory Advisory Board" in Rostock.

You will work in a multi-professional team. Using participatory methods, you will develop, adapt and update training materials for participatory research, carry out parts of the evaluation of the PART Advisory Board with quantitative and qualitative research methods and publish this research work in academic journals. You support the coordination of the project and help shape the order and the organizational structure of the PART advisory board. Other tasks include maintaining the project's online presence and administrative tasks.


Completed studies in a relevant subject (e.g. psychology, organizational psychology, health sciences, nursing sciences, social sciences) or a comparable qualification

Other requirements


  • Good methodological knowledge and in-depth knowledge/experience in statistical data analysis
  • Knowledge of relevant analysis and statistics programs (e.g., MAXQDA, NVIVO, SPSS)
  • Good written and spoken German and English
  • Sensitivity in handling confidential data
  • Good team and communication skills


  • Research experience in the field of neurodegenerative diseases and health services research (e.g., dementia research)
  • Experience in applying for ethical approval for research projects
  • Experience in the presentation of research data at international congresses
  • Knowledge of social media and representation
  • Basic IT skills (creating a website)
