The Psychological Methods and Statistics Division (Professor Andrea Hildebrandt) at the Department of Psychology, in collaboration with the Department of Pediatrics (Professor Axel Heep), both at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences of the Universität of Oldenburg seek to recruit
a PhD Student (65%, TV-L E13, 3 years) m/f/d,
start date May 2021
Applications are invited for a 3-year PhD project on the neural foundations and behavioral consequences of reward processing during adolescence. The PhD project will build upon multi-modal data analysis, including structural and functional brain connectivity and standardized behavioral assessments.
Eligible candidates will have a MSc degree (Master or equivalent) in psychology, neuroscience, or biomedical engineering. The appointed applicant will be additionally expected to be experienced with neural data analysis (primarily (f)MRI, or EEG, fNIRS) and have very good statistical analysis skills. Experience in analyzing Diffusion Tensor Imaging data is a plus. Knowledge is expected in developmental psychology, specifically childhood development and the psychology of individual differences in the domain of self-control. Very good English literacy skills and (basic) programming competencies are mandatory. German knowledge is not a must. The University of Oldenburg supports international PhD students at acquiring German language knowledge during their PhD.
