The Department of Public Health of the Medical Faculty, University of Basel, Switzerland, has established a Health Economics Facility (HEF) with state-of-the-art research, consulting and teaching activities, building on well-established health economics and health services research profiles of its member institutes ECPM and INS. The HEF is fully integrated into the Basel Center for Health Economics (BCHE). There is close cooperation with groups at the Faculty of Business and Economics, the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, the Basel university hospitals and partners outside the university. To support the development of the HEF and strengthen our team, we are looking for a dedicated research fellow (Post Doc or Senior Researcher level).

Your position

You will make important contributions to the development and coordination of the HEF; plan, conduct and publish research projects in health economic evaluation, health services research and related fields; provide advice to clinical colleagues and contribute to the acquisition of third party funding. Involvement in academic teaching is expected.

Your profile

You hold a doctoral degree in health economics, epidemiology or another relevant discipline You have excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in applied health economics or health economic evaluation. Skills in cost-effectiveness analysis alongside randomised/prospective clinical studies and/or in the analysis of large, real-world datasets, applying causal inference techniques, are of particular interest, A proven ability to publish in reputable, international journals with peer-review, Appropriate working knowledge of the following fields: economics, health technology assessment, epidemiological methods, biostatistics, medicine, Organizational talent, appropriate communication skills, ability to work independently and in a group, willingness to meet timelines, responsibility and enthusiasm, Excellent mastery of English. At least good working knowledge of German is an asset
