DataWiz Presentation At International Digital Curation Conference

Stakeholders in data curation are meeting at the International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) in Dublin at the moment. ZPID was part of it presenting its data management tool DataWiz.

Erich Weichselgartner, Tom Renner, Sam Rust, Dirk Verdicchio, Benjamin Faure (f.l.t.r.), all part of the session on "Data Management Planning Demonstrations".

The IDCC programme focuses on the questions how digital objects are properly created, managed and shared. ZPID's Erich Weichselgartner, PhD, participated in the session "Data Management Planning Demonstrations" with his presentation "DataWiz as a research data management tool for psychologists".

"Although DataWiz is a discipline-specific solution for psychology, the audience was interested in possible adaptation to other fields. Discussants also pointed out that tools like DataWiz should facilitate the sharing of data across disciplinary boundaries", reports Erich Weichselgartner.

DataWiz is a free open science tool that supports scientists in preparing research data professionally - from the beginning to the end of the research process. Data can be well documented and shared amongst a team and transferred to a repository such as ZPID's PsychArchives.

DataWiz is currently in further development. The German Research Foundation (DFG) awarded a follow-up grant. The goal is to improve usability and interoperability to make DataWiz a standard research tool in psychological science.

Further information about the assistance system can be found on the DataWiz homepage.
