The Geographic Information Visualization and Analysis (GIVA) group at the University of Zurich invites applications for two post-doctoral researcher positions in the context of the ERC Advanced Project GeoViSense, led by the GIVA group head and PI Sara Irina Fabrikant. This project, at the interface of GIScience (geovisual analytics) and neuro-cognitive science aims to study how we make space-time decisions with geographic information displays (GIDs) in varying mobile decision making contexts, and to develop respective display design guidelines for future user, task, and context-responsive GIDs to better support efficient and effective space-time decision making on the go.
Aufgabenbereich / Responsibilities
We seek two highly self-motivated researchers who will work efficiently and effectively on a research project involving virtual reality (VR) and mobile location-aware interfaces. The two PostDoc positions will have different methodological foci (i.e., VR or mobile applications in the real world) but will work closely together with an interdisciplinary team.

Anforderungen / Qualifications
A PhD in Psychology, Cognitive|Neuro Science, Computer|Data Science, Geography/Spatial Cognition, or related is essential. We seek established and highly motivated researchers who will be successful in leading an own research group, and work efficiently and effectively on interdisciplinary and collaborative projects. Experience in empirical behavioral research with human participants (indoors|outdoors), and/or in the collection|analyses of psycho-physiological data streams (i.e., EEG, EDA, EMG, or related space-time data) are essential. You have excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Knowledge of German, whilst not required, would be an advantage. Programming for Virtual Reality environments and/or mobile applications would be an asset.

The appointment will be made on an annual basis for the first year (starting May 1st, 2019), with opportunity for multi-year extensions (potentially up to 3 years).
