Part-Time with 65%
in preclinical epilepsy research. The DFG funded project (3-years) comprises investigations on the role of neural network activity in the generation of epileptic discharges (SWD) (see e.g. Terlau et al. 2020, J. Physiol.). We deploy electrophysiological, pharmacological and optogenetic approaches in a genetic rat model of absence epilepsy.
We offer an optimal working atmosphere in a small team in an excellent scientific environment.
We expect a university degree with a scientific master degree (in neuroscience, biology, experimental medicine, biological psychology or related fields), a special interest in the domain of animal research and in vivo-electrophysiology, good English communication skills (written and verbal), above-average commitment and team spirit. Prior experimental experience in in vivo electrophysiology, some understanding of network (connectivity) analysis and programming skills (e.g. Matlab) is desirable, but not a must.
