SOCIAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY OF SOCIAL WORK (W2/3)
You explore development processes of social identity in contexts of societal relevance (such as social services, NGOs, community psychology, non-profit organizations, contexts of voluntary commitment). It is an utmost concern of yours to open up the field of person-related social service administration through your own research and to contribute to a more prevalent reception of research from social and organizational psychology in the field of social work.
Hence, you aim at focusing your research on fields of social work in the future. Here, you are interested either in social identities and their organizational and societal influence on social work or in organizational structures and processes of social work and their impact on processes of personal and social identity. Correspondingly, your primary academic home is either in social or organizational psychology.
With your work, you contribute to an academic discussion in social and/?or organizational psychology that is internationally compatible with debates in social sciences, e.g. on issues of gender and diversity in (post-)modern societies. It is your special concern to strengthen the societal relevance of research in social and organizational psychology with a focus on person-related social services.
For this position, we are seeking a committed researcher with an outstanding international research profile in combination with a track record of unique ideas put into action, impacting their field as well as society. Women are especially invited to apply.
Your academic work gives evidence of innovative contributions to teaching and research, your talent for cooperating with partners inside and outside academia and your strong commitment to interdisciplinary dialogue.
Formal requirements are a university degree in a discipline relevant to the open position; your aptitude for teaching; and your ability to engage in independent academic research as demonstrated by the outstanding quality of your dissertation, and additional academic achievements obtained i.e. in the course of being an assistant professor, during your postdoctoral lecture qualification (German: Habilitation) or other achievements recognized as being equivalent to a postdoctoral qualification.
At Leuphana you will find an academic community that is open to changes in perspective and cultivates the dialogue among the different disciplines as well as between research and practice. With spirit and initiative, we address the challenges of civil society in the 21st century. Pursuing our idea of liberal education, our students are enabled to think, question and act upon it. Our professors foster the awareness of gender and diversity aspects in teaching as well as research.
