At the Institute of Work, Organisational and Social Psychology the Chair of Social Psychology (Prof. Job, Veronika) invites applications for a
Research Associate / Postdoc Position in Social Psychology
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
starting on October 1, 2019. The position is fixed-term for 3 years until September 30, 2022. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The position aims at obtaining further academic qualification (e.g. habilitation thesis).
The successful applicant will become part of the young and aspiring team at the Chair of Social Psychology headed by Prof. Dr. Veronika Job. The general focus of this group lays on motivation and self-regulation. Using laboratory experiments as well as (experimental) field studies, we investigate determinants, processes and outcomes of successful self-regulation in various contexts, including work, education, health, or interpersonal relationships. Our research is engaged in advancing basic knowledge on motivation and self-regulation, on the one hand, and developing interventions addressing motivation and self-regulatory behavior on the other hand.
- teaching according to DAVOHS (two seminar classes à 90min)
- plan, conduct, and publish research studies
- supervise bachelor and master students' theses
- participate in administrative tasks of the Chair of Social Psychology
- university degree (Diploma, Master) and doctorate degree in Psychology
- background and strong interest in motivation psychology and/or social psychology
- strong skills in research methods and statistics
- proficiency in English language
The Faculty of Psychology supports multidisciplinary research with ample opportunities for training and collaboration. The faculty is involved in a DFG funded Collaborative Research Center (Volition and Cognitive Control) and an Cluster of Excellence. The Chair of Social Psychology has behavioral testing rooms as well as access to EEG systems and a research dedicated 3T MRI scanner through the university's neural imaging center.
